We love a good Bonfire Night; toffee apples, sparklers, roast chestnuts, the works!
Here’s our list of the biggest bonfires and most spectacular fireworks displays around Halifax and Calderdale, with special displays for small children listed first.
DISPLAYS FOR SMALL CHILDREN:
Elland Charity Bonfire
This one promises a HUGE bonfire with two firework displays, a fire dance display team, food stalls, hot drinks and cakes, fairground rides, games stalls and music, as well as washroom facilities.
Gates open at 5.30pm and there will be a children’s firework display at 6pm, followed by the lighting of the bonfire at 6.30pm. The main firework display will be at 7.15pm.
Saturday, November 2, 2019. Hullen Edge Recreation Ground, Elland. Tickets: Adults, £5. Under 16s, £2.50. Unders 2’s free. Cash payment on entry.
Fire Service HQ, Birkenshaw (includes a low noise display for small children)
As well as a large bonfire, food, drink and kids rides, there are two fireworks displays on November 2; a mini, quieter, autism-friendly display between 7 and 7.30pm suitable for small children, and the main fireworks at 8.15pm. Gates open at 6pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm. Proceeds go to The Fire Fighters Charity.

Free entry to this bonfire (6.30pm) and fireworks display (7pm). Charlie Fastrax soft play is open until 9pm. Food and drink available.

Gates open at 6.30pm and there will be a bonfire at 7pm. Fireworks at 7.30pm and stalls with food, drinks and treats!

Lightcliffe Scout Headquarters
This year’s bonfire and firework extravaganza will be held on Saturday, October 26 with gates opening at 6pm. There will be a licensed bar, food and entertainment.

Todmorden Cricket Club
Gates open at 5.30pm and the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and a professional fireworks display will start at 8pm. Kids’ rides, food stalls, a bar, beer tent and much more. Ticketed event, adults £4, children £2, under 2s free. Discounted tickets available in advance.
