An award-winning holiday park nestled in Wensleydale. Akebar is a family-friendly park, with a fabulous onsite pub – The Friars Head – a golf course, great park facilities and well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay too.

Baxby Manor, York

The Hideaway is a small, relaxed and friendly campsite in the heart of North Yorkshire, that offers chilled out camping . There are just 40 pitches in a 6 acre field, which nestles in the midst of a 110 acre farm, surrounded by trees and bounded on one side by a stream. It is off the beaten track, but only a stroll from the village of Husthwaite.

Boggle Hole Hostel, Whitby

Youth hostel tucked away in an old smuggler’s cover, with sea views and wooded ground for kids to explore. En-suite rooms available, pirate themed cafe.

Catgill Campsite – Bolton Abbey

You can choose your own pitch on one of the two camping fields at Catgill Farm and enjoy gorgeous views over the Yorkshire Dales.

Arrive at any time up to 9pm and bring your dog if you like.

Cars are only allowed onto the field on arrival and departure to make the campsite safer for kids.

There’s a tiny stream running through the campsite and lots for the children to explore.

Facilities include hot Showers, dedicated disabled and family rooms, shaver and plug sockets, hair dryers, sinks for pot washing, a kettle and microwave, communal fridge and freezers.

There’s also an onside coffee shop open from 7.30-9.30am.

Coniston Hall Campsite, Cumbria

Open field site on the western shore of Consiton Water. There are no marked pitches and can accommodate tents and motorhomes only. Toilets, showers and small shop.

Cropton Forest, Pickering

Crows Nest, Near Filey

Crows Nest Caravan Park is situated on the beautiful Yorkshire coast between Scarborough and Filey. Luxury caravans for hire, or you can bring your own touring caravan or tent.

“If you want a small family-run site and want your kids to play out knowing they’re not going to go far, Crows Nest is the one. It also has an indoor pool which you can have to yourself quite often!” Mumbler AH 2017.

“We had a great time here with the kids, it’s pretty big and a little more ‘caravanny’, but we got a lovely spot on the cliff overlooking the sea. It had an ace indoor pool and a really good outdoor play area. It’s also ten minutes from Filey beach, which is the perfect seaside for tiny people due to its size. Hawkshead Youth Hostel

Humble Bee Farm – Scarborough

Lovely family-friendly campsite near the coast with plenty of space for kids to play.

It’s a working farm so there are animals to see (and you can collect an egg from the chickens for breakfast), a children’s play area, nature trails and a sports field and two shower and toilet blocks.

Small camping field for medium-sized tents (no electric). Two touring caravan pitches (electric).

Glamping: Wigwams, wigwam lodges, bell tents, cottages and yurts, lovely and cosy with optional extras you can purchase to make your stay even cosier.

Jasmine Park, Snainton

Jasmine Park is situated on the beautiful Yorkshire countryside between Scarborough and Pickering. We have luxury caravans for hire, or you can bring your own touring caravan or tent.

Jerusalem Farm & Wade Wood

With 13 hectares of nature reserve, the beautiful Jerusalem Farm and Wade Wood are perfect spots for picnics and paddling!  The kids will have great fun splashing about in the stream and there is plenty of space to play ball or Frisbee. There are picnic tables, spots in the shade and you can have a barbecue too!

Look out for woodland birds such as goldfinches, robins, woodpeckers, tree creepers and nuthatches. And if you’re quiet, you might even spot a deer! In the autumn there is woodland fungi and all kinds of flora and fauna to enjoy.

Access to the woods from the car park is by a steep grass track, but there is a zig-zag path from the car park to the grass, which is stroller accessible.

Jerusalem Farm is also a campsite from April-September, with pitches for around 30 tents and a holiday cottage.

Windle House Farm – Oxenhope

Back-to-basics camping and glamping on a working farm in an idyllic location. No electric hook up (although there are electric showers).

Barbecues and fire pits allowed.

Woodhouse Farm, Ripon

Woodhouse Farm is a family-owned holiday home, caravan and camping park with excellent facilities.

Clean, hot showers are available 24 hrs a day with modern toilets and washbasins with shaving points . There are baby changing rooms, a family bathroom and a disabled bathroom, laundry room and grocery shop.

There are three activity centres on the park catering for two groups of children. The first is a play fort located securely close to the shower block and is designed for children under six. It has a small picnic area and there is additional seating close by. The second is a play fort for older children under 14 and is located at the bottom of the paddock on the right hand side. The third is a play barn with a climbing wall, table tennis, pool table and foosball located next to the Barn restaurant.
