Fun Halloween one-off events, kids’ parties, workshops, messy play and more in Halifax and Calderdale this October.
Spooky outdoor Halloween fun includes apple bobbin, Halloween crafts and potion making! Children will listen to a story, make crafts, learn about nature and enjoy hot chocolate and marshmallows around a campfire. Trick or Treating might be a bit different this year due to COVID19, however at Pretty’s Sweets we want to deliver happiness to your homes. Surprise your children with our Halloween Trick or Treat box, jam packed with ghostly treats. Beautifully presented sweets with a halloween twist!

It’s time to come out of hiding this summer! The dinosaurs are back at Stockeld park for a Jurassic event like no other!

The Terrifying Toddler special (October 19-22, 2020) will be hosted by a friendly Scare Crew, with ghostly goblins, petrifying pumpkins, wicked witches and scary snakes. You can meet all the animals and take part in egg collecting.

Rock Halloween on wheels at Halifax YMCA’s Spooktacular Halloween Party. There are two parties to choose from; Friday, October 25, or Saturday, October 26, 2019. Both 6-8pm. Tickets cost £5 and include pizza or a hotdog, a spooky bun and a drink. Fancy dress optional, prizes for the best costumes.

Explore Leeds City Museum and follow a simple scavenger hunt to spot the joy in the teeny, tiny and tiddly things in the museum. You can print or write out the Scavenger hunt or pick up a sheet at the museum shop. Bring your own pencil!
Takeaway Tiny Craft Activity
Pick up a bag from the museum shop to do a free, teeny museum craft at home. We’ll do everything we can to minimise the risk with this, packing bags ahead of time, and making hand sanitiser available near the pick-up point.
Online Teeny Activity Idea
Tune in to our facebook page on 27 October to get create an outfit for your teddy. You’ll just need old clothes or fabric that can be cut up, and some string. You could make them a cape, a skirt or even a little bowtie!

Create eye-catching and funky pumpkins with acrylic paints and stencils. £12.50 per child, including medium sized pumpkin, paints and stencils, play in the play centre and any meal from our tasty children’s menu. Come dressed up for extra spooky fun.
The cafe will be decorated and there will be spooky music.

Decorate two cupcakes (an eyeball and a witch) and spooky music, decorations and lots of fun. Come in your best spooky costume! Each child will get a scary story to take home, a Halloween-themed magic painting and a Halloween tote bag with lunch and play time in the playcentre.

Follow the spooky skeletons trail around the estate and into the haunted house, while dressed up in your best Halloween costume.
You can download the trail or pick it up when you visit, along with downloadable Halloween craft activities to do at home and share on social media.
Our new visitor route through the servants quarters and historic rooms will be dressed to impress for Halloween.
Visit The Piece Hall at dusk to go on a secret tour with spooky stories from The Piece Hall’s past, then warm up with hot chocolate and sweet treats.

Don your spookiest Halloween costume and trick or treat around The Piece Hall shops! Children will be given Halloween bags and trail maps, and receive sweet treats from the shops. £2.50 per trail.
The best Halloween costume will win £20 worth of ice-cream from Blondins (enter by sharing a fancy dress picture on social media with the hashtag #HalloweenHall and tag The Piece Hall).
