The Christmas countdown is on, and Calderdale is absolutely full to the brim with festive fun this weekend!
From live nativities to meeting Santa in the woods, pantomimes, wacky science shows, taking your dog to visit Santa Paws and cooking on campfires, there’s something for everyone.
We’ve compiled a list of our favourites here, and you can plan further in advance by checking our events calendar.
Watch a free live nativity during the day, then join in carols by candlelight!

Enjoy the Stickman story while playing on tree swings, hammocks, mud and water play. Warm up with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows around the campfire, then greet Santa!
Wrap up warm and enjoy a trail, hot chocolate and making Christmas decorations!

Step back in time and listen to a story by the fireplace, play Victorian games and make a gift! For children aged 6+.
Illuminated street festival with light, sound, food, drink and dancing!
Lovely indoor forest of storytelling trees at Gibson Mill, inspired by the brothers Grimm.

Festive trail around The Piece Hall to create a Christmas potion!
Santa and his elves will welcome children to his magical grotto!
Family-friendly show with Sheherazade, the greatest storyteller of them all! Age 3+
Play silly interactive challenges and stare the gunge tank in the face!
Bring your dog to visit Santa Paws at Kershaws Garden Centre!
December 14-January 5
Family panto with slapstick humour.
Circus Skills Nativity performed by children, followed by an evening of singing and laughter for people of all ages!
Magical session of movement, making and music. For children aged 0-5.
Santa will be calling into The Jungle Experience, with some Christmas crafts.
Saturday, December 14.
Magical costumed workshop with Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother.
Fantastic science show for both children and adults: elephant’s toothpaste, vortex-generating dustbins and howling jelly babies!
